Quick briefing:
The Co-Curricular transcript is meant to "officially" log a student's extra curricular activities while they attened our college. All of the clubs you joined, or honor societies or community service will be tracked and printed onto an official-TSTC Approved-transcript!
Where we are at now:
Next week, the Chair for the Harlingen team will be presenting our updated information to the Vice President's of the entire system. I can't go into EVERY detail, but here is the synopsis:
There will be 5 categories included on the transcript:
- Awards & Honors
- Student Organizations
- Leadership Development
- Community Service
- Activities & Participation
For each of the categories - the Semester, Title & Role will be logged.
Example:
Awards & Honors
Summer 2009 Student of the Semester President's Office
Student Organizations
Summer 2009 Basketweaving Club Vice President
Leadership Development
Spring 2010 Valley Leadership Coalition Participant
Community Service
Fall 1999 Beach Clean Up Participant
Activities and Participation
Fall 2000 SGA Finance Committee Chair
The Process:
In theory - a student will attend an event, or workshop, etc. - and wants to put it on the transcript. The student will fill out a "validation form" and submit it (don't know to whom yet).
Once submitted - the activity is entered into your record and when you want a copy, you can just request it like a regular Academic Transcript at the Admissions Office.
From there, you can attach it to scholarship applications, employment resumes, or university applications!
If you have any suggestions, please let me know!
